8/24/2023 0 Comments Hammerfight mod![]() Unfortunately the Gust eclipse every other DA ships in the support category. The Gust is good because not only it have a launch bay but it also have a large energy hardpoint, which mean you can mount a long range support weapon like the Tachyon lance (which is one of the variant BTW).Ī single launch bay may seem a bit weak for a cruiser but given DA wanzers are incredibly though, you don't have to replace them regularly. Getting at least one of those plus a Gust carrier is the first priority if you want to build a proper DA fleet. The mechs wings are by far the best fighters in the entire game, definitely not the fastest but undoubtedly the most armed and armored. ![]() I have to say however that the support ships are much better for an endgame scenario, the Gust cruiser especially. If you want Flagships, pick the three on the right, if you want AI ships, pick the four on the left. The other ships are relegated to the role of support (debatable for the Calm destroyer). The only worthy flagships are the three newly added Vapor/Hayle and Haze thanks to their good mobility and huge frontal firepower. Auxiliary thrusters and insulated engines assembly will also increase drastically your ships survivability. ![]() The tiny frontal shield is something DA ships suffer a lot throughout the game, getting the extended shield hullmod is vital if you want to survive. The Vapor is the least dangerous (and only) choice for a starter frigate, it can pack quite a punch but the very weak hull and narrow Neutrino-ish frontal shield make it incredibly vulnerable to heat-seekers that pirates tends to use. Starting with the unshielded Draft frigate is suicidal, everything will hack you to piece quickly. The ending of Hammerfight sounds extremely similar to the crypso situation of Vangers, which connects it to Perimeter.I played a bit the campaign with them, they make me think of some kind of hybrid child between Exigency and SCY.Įarly game is hard with DA, very hard. A main link between Hammerfight and Highfleet is that the House of Sayadi exists in both games. Humanity lives in a feudalistic state for some reason. Elaat is either sealed off from other dimensions completely or partially due to the event of Vangers. The colonists probably had memories of Earth and carried these styles over. This explains the real world influences of Highfleet, such as Imperial Russian uniforms, Tsarist/Soviet era ship names and Arabic/North Africa culture, aesthetics and city names. Highfleets world, Elaat, is probably a dimension that humans from Perimeter colonized. And hammerfight is probably in the same universe as Perimeter and Vangers. Highfleet was confirmed by a developer to be a prequel to Hammerfight. Sadly it worked on the humans as well, so their dna merged with the crypsos to make weird human alien hybrids. The humans left behind were losing the war against the crypso, so they deployed a dna bomb which would decompose the dna of its victims. Humans then had to close the Psychosphere to some degree, either fully or only to the worlds with crypso infection. Despite the humans advanced weapons these aliens are messing them up and spreading to other worlds quickly. However they f-ed up because an alien lifeform there, Crypso, is extremely powerful. Game 2 : Vangersĭuring or after the event of Vangers, humans open a portal to an alien world. And another wants to build an intergalactic, Combine from HL2 style empire. Different factions arise and fight over what to do, one group wants to keep fighting and go further to find a better dimension to live in peace, other one wants to retreat and go home. It spawns monsters when negative thoughts are present in humans. However, the Psychosphere reacts to subconscious thought. Hammerfight, Perimeter, Vangers, and Highfleet are different dimensions. Humans invent interdimensional portal travel via "Psychosphere" around the late 90s, basically a travel network between dimensions. Ill get into more detail about this below. These 3 games, and Highfleet, probably take place in the same universe due to links between them. Hammerfight, Perimeter and Vangers were all published by KranX. Obviously spoilers, so beware The shared universe
